Hoka Hey SITREP

My buddy Keith #616 is a stud. Literally. Well, not literally but he is a fitness instructor. Both he and his bike are in super condition, and he trained for months for this challenge. Despite that, he's currently languishing in the middle of the pack. Holy cow, rider #703 must be some kind of a man-beast! His lead is unreal. To the riders in Arizona, Green means GO! You may begin. As for the riders in Texas, I only hope the detour was worth it. And finally, to #703, don't get too cocky. You need at least three days to reach Nova Scotia, and that's time for my man Keith to catch you. He's apparently saving up for a strong finish!

Let's see, 10,000 miles at an average speed of 40 miles per hour is 250 hours in the saddle. Riders are not allowed to speed, and most of the trail is secondary roads, and with a 5 gallon gas tank they are gonna hafta stop every 200 miles or so whether they want to or not. So, between stops for gas, food, and sleep, these guys and gals are riding 20 hours a day for two weeks, or 10 hours a day for a month.

Either way, I can't wait to hear the stories!

Go, Keith, GO!!
